Where It All Began
Miguel Ibarra, born and raised in Chicago and Cicero, IL, grew up listening to Latin music and Golden Oldies.
About the age of ten in the 90s, Rap and Hip Hop became life. Influenced by Mobb Deep, Nas, Wu Tang, Shyne, Biggie, Outkast, and DMX, a young Troubled.1 emerged.
By 13, known then as "Ecco", he was writing his own lyrics and creating beats on mix tapes and a boombox with a microphone.
Into his high school years, he started writing and rapping about gang life and making mix tapes. He was nicknamed 'Trouble' by his peers, since he was always getting into trouble.
At a young age, he never knew he wanted to pursue this as a career. Writing lyrics and rapping was just something that was always a part of him.
Entering adulthood, writing lyrics and rapping became an essential creative outlet in his life during his time behind bars. The positive feedback about his skills from his peers during this time, inspired him to take it a step further and start to professionally record.
Fast forward 18 years, Troubled.1 is currently signed with Static Mind Records and soon to be releasing multiple singles and an album in 2023.

Creative Process
When asked to describe his creative process, Troubled.1 simply states, "I don't have one."
Writing lyrics comes to him naturally. He says, "like magic, it just happens."
Sometimes he writes one sentence, and sometimes he will write 4-5 songs in a sitting.
He always writes in a little room at home that is his own space, where he puts on headphones, has a drink and just writes.
His lyrics help him process feelings. It's an opportunity to escape pain and heartbreak. It is not a forced event.
His mind tells him when to go write. Sometimes in the middle of the night after a nightmare.
Spoken as a true artist, his art is his escape, and hopefully others can find solace in his words, too.
